My name is Marcelo Magalhaes Menezes and I’m from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

I became a professional journalist in 2004. But even before my graduation, I started working for Globo TV, Brazil's main TV station. During most of my six years there, I worked as an editor for local and national, news and sports programmes.

In 2009, I got a Chevening Scholarship from the British Council to do a MA in Journalism at University of Westminster, in London. And here I am now, learning a lot both from the experienced lecturers and my international colleagues.

I’ve focused my studies on Broadcast Journalism and my optional modules are Sports and Online Journalism.

I’m also working as a freelancer to Brazilian magazines like Viagem e Turismo (tourism) and Placar (a traditional football magazine).

In Europe, I’ve had amazing experiences interviewing football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo. I’ve also discovered how challenging it is to help children in Africa. I visited the agonizing London markets and found an incredible ‘pastor footballer’.

You can see everything I've just told you. Check out my portfolio and tell me what you think.
